There are over 200 Mensans in Albany, Troy, Guilderland, Rotterdam, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Ballston Lake, Gloversville, Saratoga Springs, Gansevoort, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Plattsburgh, and many other Northeastern New York municipalities. Click the map above to get a better look (MoNNY territory is in orange).
MoNNY is largely a social organization with a hint of community service mixed in. We have at least one event per week, but often more. We go to dinner, see movies, attend lectures, participate in activities, collaborate on projects, take tours of interesting places, volunteer for local non-profits, and we've even been known to conga line our way through a ballroom or two.
Along with the intellectual and social activities, members receive discounts on products and services including insurance and travel and other benefits such a Mensa-branded credit card and financial services. For more on some of the benefits offered to members, visit: http://us.mensa.org/shop/benefits-and-services/
To qualify for membership, a person must score in the top 2% of the population on an accepted, standardized test. That score can come from Mensa's own admission test or one of about 200 others, such as the Stanford-Binet, Cattell, GMAT or LSAT. For more information on accepted tests and scores, visit: http://us.mensa.org/join/testscores/qualifyingscores/
If you are interested in testing with us, click the Upcoming Events link to see if there are any convenient testing days coming up. If not, please contact our Testing Coordinator on the Officers page.
Annual membership dues for American Mensa are $70 a year. Life, multi-year and dues rates for additional family members are available. To join, visit: http://us.mensa.org/join/ To renew, visit: https://www.us.mensa.org/renew
